What is a stock movement register?
A stock movement register records inventory transactions that increase or reduce the quantity of an item over time.
What transactions can I record?
The template can record receipts, issues, transfers, returns, positive adjustments, negative adjustments and other inventory movements.
How is the running balance calculated?
The balance is calculated from the opening stock plus quantity received minus quantity issued for each subsequent transaction.
Can I use this for multiple SKUs?
This version is designed primarily as a movement register for one SKU or item at a time. This keeps the running balance clear and easy to audit.
Does the template calculate movement value?
Yes. If unit cost is entered, the Excel workbook calculates the estimated value of each inventory movement.
