Discount Calculator — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate a discounted price?

Multiply the original price by one minus the discount percentage expressed as a decimal. For example, 20% off QAR 100 gives a final price of QAR 80.

How do I calculate the discount percentage?

Subtract the sale price from the original price, divide the saving by the original price, then multiply by 100.

How do stacked discounts work?

Each discount is applied sequentially. The second discount applies to the price remaining after the first discount.

Is 20% off plus another 10% off equal to 30%?

No. A 20% discount followed by a 10% discount produces an effective total discount of 28%.

Does quantity change the discount percentage?

No. Quantity changes the total original value, total savings and final total, but the percentage discount remains the same.
